Taught by a team of award-winning journalists and media professionals, the newly launched Media Summer School programme is the first of its kind in Asia. It offers an immersive and practical experience for undergraduate students interested in business, arts & culture, film, and sports through the lens of media. In addition to certificates of completion, participants will graduate with essential skills for multimedia storytelling. 

 

Module 1: Introduction to the World of Business Media (Jul 8 - 12)

This immersive learning programme is designed to introduce students to the dynamic intersection of media and business. Through interactive sessions, field trips to leading business media outlets, and discussions with journalists and communications professionals, students will gain firsthand insights into the role of media in shaping business narratives and strategy. Students will also have the opportunity to hear from executives of listed companies and learn about media-centric corporate strategy and events.

 

Module 2: Arts, Cultural, and Film Appreciation Through the Lens of Media (Jul 15 - 19)

Learn from journalists, documentarians, art critics, curators, and artists, fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse forms, including digital arts and heritage buildings. This immersive experience features interactive sessions, museum visits, and special lectures by artists, filmmakers, docents and writers, providing a distinct outlook. Students have the opportunity to develop projects and share their views in multimedia.

 

Module 3: Introduction to the World of Sports Journalism and Business of Sports (Jul 22 - 26)

This course is a dynamic program immersing participants in the exciting world of sports media and business. Learning sports reporting, storytelling, and the business strategies behind the sports industry, students will visit sports venues and institutions, meet with sports professionals, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between media and the thriving business of sports.
