The Cross Cultural Summer Enrichment Programme offers junior secondary school students a rich and immersive learning experience, combining interactive academic sessions, lectures by faculty members, and exclusive social activities.
Participants join small-group academic sessions led by teaching Fellows recruited from HKU and internationally renowned universities. Each group is co-taught by two Fellows, who collaboratively design a curriculum that draws on their areas of expertise and covers a broad range of topics such as humanities, history, sustainability, and social issues. Before the programme begins, all Fellows participate in an intensive two-week training at HKU to enhance their teaching skills and refine their lesson plans, ensuring a high-quality learning environment.
These academic sessions are highly interactive and tailored to the unique backgrounds of the Fellows, fostering a dynamic and engaging atmosphere. Throughout the programme, students work collaboratively within their groups on a capstone project, which they present on a chosen topic during the Closing Ceremony.

Sustainability issues are prevalent in the news and all around us, leading to significant public concern as we witness the rapid changes in our environment. Climate change stands as one of the biggest challenges humanity faces, with overconsumption of natural resources exacerbating climate risks. Organizations are increasingly realizing that they cannot solely focus on the financial impacts of climate change. They must expand their strategic thinking to adopt initiatives that bring about systemic change across all aspects of their organizations, including energy use, diversity, stakeholder engagement, and recognition of ecosystems dependencies.

This programme provides a platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world to develop advanced methodologies for conducting research projects. Covering both qualitative and quantitative techniques, the courses offer students a unique opportunity to meet HKU leading scholars in their areas, to develop professional networks, and to broaden their set of research skills. Students will also be able to develop systematic knowledge of how to write about their research and apply such knowledge to their writing in a professional manner both within and beyond their degree. These knowledge and skills developed through the programme will equip students with the capacity to become effective members of a research community.
