Sustainability issues are prevalent in the news and all around us, leading to significant public concern as we witness the rapid changes in our environment. Climate change stands as one of the biggest challenges humanity faces, with overconsumption of natural resources exacerbating climate risks. Organizations are increasingly realizing that they cannot solely focus on the financial impacts of climate change. They must expand their strategic thinking to adopt initiatives that bring about systemic change across all aspects of their organizations, including energy use, diversity, stakeholder engagement, and recognition of ecosystems dependencies.

This programme is designed to help you grasp the concepts of Sustainability and the Circular Economy while exploring ways to mitigate carbon emissions and the need for environmental analysis. By enhancing your understanding of environmental risks and how the principles of the circular economy can address these risks, the programme aims to develop your skills in better managing and contributing to a more sustainable and socially responsible business. Students will collaborate to create a business plan that presents a solution to the challenges outlined by the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The programme is structured into morning and afternoon sessions, with each session focusing on specific topics such as the fundamentals of sustainability, circular economy principles, and strategies for effectively integrating the UN SGDs into core business strategies. Students will engage in collaborative projects, fostering the exchange of innovative ideas and the application of their newly acquired skills. To ensure the successful project completion, additional work outside regular class hours may be necessary for project development and refinement.

The programme incorporates games, exercises, workshop and a capstone presentation, providing participants with hands-on experience drawing from various fields of learning.
